Live Event Coverage for PDX Tech Company
Recently, a longstanding Portland based technology client asked us to offer video support for a two-day event held in downtown New York City. Video is a big part of many corporate events and conferences, offering opportunity to shine and capture content for ongoing marketing efforts. Continuing a longstanding relationship with this client, we were eager to fulfill the entirety of their vision and video needs.
Reels and Event Videos
Event planning staff worked in cooperation with the sales team to come up with a compelling two day event. With every event we’ve supported, there’s an overall message that needs to be communicated. Our customer wanted to utilize video to help effect mood with reels that would get attendees pumped up and support videos to support certain speaker sessions.
Pre-Production
In preparation for the onsite shooting of the event, we worked with the client well in advance to outline their needs, goals and understand where we would be needed at different times during the event. For the scope of this event, we decided on a crew of three: a producer/camera operator, a sound tech/camera operator, and a gimbal/camera operator/editor would be sufficient to support our efforts. The VP crew then created a call sheet which instructed our crew where to be when, with what equipment and the overall goal of whatever it was we were shooting. Our customers always appreciate this level of detail that goes into our planning and organization. Never used a call sheet? Here’s a post on why we use them:)
On Location
When we arrived on-site, we set up a private room out of the way to be used as our gear storage and editing area. There we readied all equipment to film, download, and edit footage throughout the day. At the end of the first day, we edited together a video montage to play for all attendees on the second day. Throughout the entire process, we maintained a professional presence and maximized our time to effectively film everything the client needed.
We wore various hats within our team of three, utilizing our strengths to do the job successfully and efficiently. While our sound tech ensured clean sound came from key sessions, our gimbal operator captured dynamic b-roll shots. While our producer set up cameras for the next session, the gimbal operator switched roles to download footage. In this way, we met all video needs and made sure the process ran smoothly.
A Successful Event and Satisfied Customer
We greatly enjoyed working with this client to film their event in a way that captured their vision. We were also honored to provide content that enriched the event experience. Whether you are in need of feature videos for your event or event coverage, we would love to help you achieve your goals for your next event!
