Product Marketing Video for Smarsh
Video has become the preferred way for customers to engage with brands. Studies have found 81% of consumers said they had been convinced to buy a product or service by watching a video. There’s no question–it has become a vital asset for sales and marketing.
The VideoPro team had the pleasure of working on a video project for Smarsh, a Portland, Oregon based, global provider in the financial technology space. They wanted an engaging product video to help increase awareness of their Supervision solution, something that could inform, educate and assist their prospects as they went through the decision-making process.
Together with the Smarsh team, we decided to make a long version of this informational video, as well as a fun and interesting 60-second version. The different versions offered flexibility when it came to channel distribution.
Stellar Quality, On Budget
Our first step was to concept the script. After the Smarsh team provided an outline for the content, we went back and forth to create and refine a flow, narration and imagery we would include with the footage of a live actor.
Our team was committed to balance the cost of each decision with the goals of the video so we could stay within budget. We explored many different ways of executing ideas to ensure the end result would be high quality as well as cost effective.
Precise Planning
In order to ensure the end product would be something everyone was thrilled with, we put significant effort into pre-production. We meticulously worked on scripting, outlining each shot, and building a call sheet with every crew member, location and piece of equipment precisely scheduled for our time filming onsite. All along the way, we reviewed our concepts and plans with the client to ensure alignment with their goals and needs.
The day of the shoot had many moving parts. We had to coordinate the schedules of the actors, the movement of equipment, availability of rooms–even the movement of the sun to make sure the lighting would work well across each scene with large windows. Anyone that lives in Portland, will know that tracking the sun can be an issue at times:)
Our team had our eyes on keeping costs down without sacrificing quality–missing a shot was not an option. Due to our careful preparation, we completed the shoot in one day with a streamlined crew and no snags. We even finished a little ahead of schedule.
Editing and Graphics
Thanks to the careful planning and execution on the front end of the project, the edit came together smoothly. As planned in our mockups, we created motion graphics that fit seamlessly with our filmed content. Still working closely with Smarsh, we pulled together all of the pieces for a polished final product.
We are so appreciative of our partnership with Smarsh for the creation of these videos. They were engaged, creative and thoughtful–a true pleasure to work with. And since they were happy with the result, we’re excited to be able to work with them again on the creation of four more similar videos over the coming months.
